insulin resistance — 21 things I got wrong before I got it right

Discussion Clean Column ×1 Sourced ×3

Been lurking in c/labresults for about 14 months and finally have something worth posting.

Short version: week 36, 7.5mg, and fertility is the bit I still cannot get a straight answer on. I have read the wiki, I have read the last 13 threads, and the answers split roughly down the middle.

What I actually want to know is whether the people saying it does not matter have measured it, or whether it is just repeated confidently. Happy to be told I am overthinking this — I probably am — but I would rather overthink it now than at week 42.

This is the "correlation is mechanism" thing again. You changed three variables at once.

My version of this: I was so worried about the injection that I put it off for eleven days. The injection is the easiest part.

Adding to this: perimenopause is doing more work than the comment implies.

Maintenance for 19 months now. Weight moves within about 3kg and the dose is a quarter of what it peaked at.

You have restated the marketing copy. What is the actual substance here.

hormonal contraception interactions are speculative

Removed a chain here. The rule is one line long and it is not negotiable.

Not to be pedantic but cycle and fertility are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.

Slight fix: the number was 99.3, not 93.7. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.

Which country? Half the answers in this thread only apply in Spain.

That is net peptide content, not purity. Different number, different meaning.

This is correct. PCOS is real.

The practical rule people converge on is 28 days at fridge temperature after first puncture, and that comes from the preservative, not the peptide.

Has anyone actually got this in writing, or is it forum lore at this point?

Strongly agree. Cycle changes are documented.

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 79 weeks to accept.

Water content matters more than people think. If a vial is carrying residual moisture, your "10mg" is not 10mg of peptide.

Titration speed is a side-effect dial far more than an efficacy dial.

The questions the trials under-powered: PCOS and insulin resistance, cycle changes, fertility signal and contraception interactions, perimenopause and menopause weight physiology, and the fact that the pregnancy answer is always "not while trying, talk to your clinician".
