[Question] New Zealand — has anyone got a straight answer on insulin resistance

Question Clean Column ×3 Cold Box ×2

Long-ish post, sorry. tl;dr at the bottom.

I have been tracking PCOS against eGFR for 5 weeks because I could not find anyone who had. The correlation is weaker than I expected, which is itself mildly interesting given how confidently people link the two in here.

Caveats up front: one person, one lab, one assay, no control, and I changed my training in the middle of it, which was stupid.

tl;dr: probably real, definitely smaller than the threads imply, and not worth reorganising your week around.

Every time this gets posted it hits the front page and every time someone has to re-explain it.

Strongly agree. Cycle changes are documented.

Has anyone actually got this in writing, or is it forum lore at this point?

Tracking number removed. It identifies both ends of a shipment.

My version of this: I was so worried about the injection that I put it off for eleven days. The injection is the easiest part.

Not to be pedantic but PCOS and insulin resistance are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.

hair-loss on PCOS is real

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 33 weeks to accept.

The evidence standard in c/vendorvetting gets called too strict about once a month, and every time, the thread ends with the complainant agreeing.

This is correct. PCOS is real.

Sceptical. If this were true we would see it reflected in the data and we do not.

About c/glp1women

The questions the trials under-powered: PCOS and insulin resistance, cycle changes, fertility signal and contraception interactions, perimenopause and menopause weight physiology, and the fact that the pregnancy answer is always "not while trying, talk to your clinician".
