[Meta] proposal — a flair for FFMI posts

Question Cold Box ×9

Genuinely asking, not being difficult.

Everyone in c/progresspics repeats that sarcopenia is important. I believe it, but I have never seen anyone show why, and when I search I get 2 threads of people agreeing with each other.

Is there a paper? Is there a measurement? Or is this one of those things that is true because it has been repeated since 2023?

I am not trying to be the "source?" guy. I would just like a source.

Dead space in the needle hub holds a small but non-trivial volume. On low-volume draws that can be several units.

That is net peptide content, not purity. Different number, different meaning.

Second this question. I have wondered about FFMI for 6 months and never seen a straight answer.

Second this question. I have wondered about lean mass for 5 months and never seen a straight answer.

Second this question.

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.

Removed a chain here. The rule is one line long and it is not negotiable.

bathroom BIA scales are not a method

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 81 weeks to accept.

How many weeks between the two measurements?

u/usp_appendixOPcompendial7 points·1 months ago

Week 92 for me and the honest summary is: 5kg down, injection-site soreness manageable, and I have thought about food maybe four times today.

Three years on this site and the questions have not changed at all. Which is depressing or reassuring depending on the day.

This is correct. DEXA is the standard.

Strongly agree. Resistance training counts.

Has anyone actually got this in writing, or is it forum lore at this point?

Came off after 90 weeks for financial reasons. Regained about a third over the following year. Back on now at a much lower dose.
