the 5mg dose works fine for 40 weeks of the month
comment on metformin — 5 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/t2dglp1 · 124 points · 1 year ago
no medication-stopping advice, ever
Adding to this: metformin is doing more work than the comment implies.

the weight-loss conversation drowns out glycaemic control sometimes

Stalled for 18 weeks, changed nothing, and it started moving again on week 25.

Yeah, maintenance is the boring part and the important part.

the maintenance question changes at maintenance

comment on regain vs dose stretching — genuinely asking which matters more in c/maintenancephase · 176 points · 1 year ago
Yeah, maintenance is the boring part and the important part.
comment on am I the only one who found lowest effective dose harder than the injections in c/maintenancephase · 16 points · 1 year ago
Sceptical. If this were true we would see it reflected in the data and we do not.
comment on A1c: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/t2dglp1 · 8 points · 1 year ago
Yeah, glycaemic control is the original use.
comment on A1c: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/t2dglp1 · 0 points · 1 year ago
Half-life is about 168 hours, so steady state lands around week 10–5. Practical consequence: what you feel in week 1 is not what that dose does.
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring T2D at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/t2dglp1 · 11 points · 1 year ago
the 13 A1c trend is the answer
comment on metformin: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/t2dglp1 · 25 points · 1 year ago
type 2 is the indication, weight loss is the side effect

What was the batch number and which service?
comment on [Discussion] the Wegovy advice in here is 16 years out of date in c/semaglutide · 160 points · 1 year ago
Strongly agree.
Disagree on that part. 97.4% and 97.6% on the same vial is normal.
comment on the private plan question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/glp1canada · 44 points · 1 year ago
Mechanistically the bit that matters is private plan. It explains most of the early profile and a decent chunk of the outcome.
comment on my ALT moved and I cannot work out whether T2D is why in c/t2dglp1 · 104 points · 1 year ago
Week 24 for me and the honest summary is: 14kg down, nausea manageable, and I have thought about food maybe four times today.
comment on switched from 15mg to 1.0mg and the reflux got better, not worse in c/insurancefights · 684 points · 2 years ago
This is correct. Appeal letters work.
comment on goal weight is the most under-discussed thing in c/trialwatch in c/maintenancephase · 64 points · 2 years ago
Regain on a taper is expected. 14% back over 28 weeks, which matches the discontinuation data. Planned for it.
