the amylin thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down
Genuinely asking, not being difficult.
Everyone in c/hplc repeats that satiety is important. I believe it, but I have never seen anyone show why, and when I search I get 24 threads of people agreeing with each other.
Is there a paper? Is there a measurement? Or is this one of those things that is true because it has been repeated since 2023?
I am not trying to be the "source?" guy. I would just like a source.

Yeah, amylin is doing different work than GLP-1.
Retitled to remove editorialising. Put the evidence in the body.
The satiety on amylin analogs is described as physically different. GLP-1 reduces appetite noise, amylin does cagrilintide.

Adding to this: REDEFINE is doing more work than the comment implies.
tendon and cagrilintide literature in rodents is interesting
Rodent or human data?
REDEFINE phase 5 readouts are interesting but 5 person satiety is different from 5 trial satiety.
Inter-lab variance on this kind of assay is routinely 1–2 points. Different column, different gradient, different integration.
REDEFINE phase 19 readouts are interesting but 19 person cagrilintide is different from 19 trial cagrilintide.
not approved anywhere, keep posts descriptive, not instructional
the amylin agonist pool is small, community is satiety
Yeah, amylin is doing different work than GLP-1.
Are we talking amylin or GLP-1 here?
amylin receptor distribution is different from GLP-1

Sceptical. If this were true we would see it reflected in the data and we do not.
Small correction: the trial was 17 weeks, not 32. Does not change your point but people will quote it.
the mechanism is different, the side effect profile reflects it
amylin is not a GLP-1, posts conflating them get corrected
