[Meta] proposal — a flair for cold chain posts
Genuinely asking, not being difficult.
Everyone in c/compounding repeats that data logger is important. I believe it, but I have never seen anyone show why, and when I search I get 13 threads of people agreeing with each other.
Is there a paper? Is there a measurement? Or is this one of those things that is true because it has been repeated since 2023?
I am not trying to be the "source?" guy. I would just like a source.

excursion claims need a logger trace or a photo at unboxing, not "it felt warm"

Adding to this: data logger is doing more work than the comment implies.
Three years on this site and the questions have not changed at all. Which is depressing or reassuring depending on the day.
Disagree. What you are describing is consistent with excursion, not with what you concluded.
Strongly agree. Peak temperature is not the whole story.
Logger trace from my shipment: 5 hours at 13°C. Powder tested 99.1% against 98.4% claim. Tolerates more than the box implies.

Customs clearance took 6 days. Package sat unrefrigerated during that. Powder tested clean after, reconstituted solution probably would not have.

Yeah, data logger is the only acceptable proof.
Logger trace from my shipment: 23 hours at 15°C. Powder tested 98.6% against 99.0% claim. Tolerates more than the box implies.
Reconstituted or dry powder?
lyophilised powder is far more forgiving than reconstituted solution
Small correction: the trial was 23 weeks, not 28. Does not change your point but people will quote it.
Denmark to Denmark: 24 days with SSA and 6 days with JEEP. Same route, different carriers, variance is real.

Yeah, data logger is the only acceptable proof.
stability after excursion is not zero, it is dose-dependent
time-at-temperature integral is the dose, not just peak temperature
customs clearance often breaks the cold chain, factor that in
Strongly agree. Peak temperature is not the whole story.
