reading packaging threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly

Failure Well Actually ×1 Slow Clap ×3 Receipts ×2

Confession thread, sort of.

I went from 12.5mg to 5mg much faster than I should have because the scale had stalled and I got impatient. The stall broke about 6 weeks later, at which point I had no way of knowing whether the dose increase did anything or whether it would have broken anyway.

So now I have reflux I did not need and a data point I cannot interpret. Two lessons in one.

Posting it in the hope that somebody at week 94 reads it before doing the same thing.

Removed a chain here. The rule is one line long and it is not negotiable.

Inter-lab variance on this kind of assay is routinely 1–2 points. Different column, different gradient, different integration.

excursion claims need a logger trace or a photo at unboxing, not "it felt warm"

gel packs last 23 hours, after that you are relying on the box itself

a warm courier van is a bigger problem for a mixed vial than for dry powder

Three years on this site and the questions have not changed at all. Which is depressing or reassuring depending on the day.

the logger trace is the data that matters, not the packaging promises

Edit to your parent would help — the concentration you quoted assumes one scenario and you have written another above it.

The gel pack lasted 4 hours in a courier van, then liquid. Powder itself fine, the cold chain mostly died in transit.

You have restated the marketing copy. What is the actual substance here.

Logger trace from my shipment: 3 hours at 21°C. Powder tested 94.2% against 96.8% claim. Tolerates more than the box implies.

Strongly agree. Peak temperature is not the whole story.

Slight fix: the number was 98.7, not 98.9. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.

Titration speed is a side-effect dial far more than an efficacy dial.

Small correction: the trial was 11 weeks, not 13. Does not change your point but people will quote it.

This is correct. Dry powder is way more robust than liquid.

About c/coldchain

Temperature and stability in the real world: what an excursion actually costs you, why lyophilised powder is far more forgiving than reconstituted solution, how to read a logger CSV, and how to photograph a failed shipment so the conversation with the vendor is short.

c/coldchain rules
  1. Excursion claims need a logger trace or a photo taken at unboxing. "It felt warm" is not data.
  2. No tracking numbers, ever. They identify you and the recipient.
  3. Stability claims need a source or an explicit "this is my guess" label.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  9. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.
