[PSA] baseline labs is not what most of this community thinks it is

Concerning Sourced ×9 Cold Box ×2 Slow Clap ×2

Quick one. Canada here.

A1c works very differently where I live than in the threads that dominate the front page, and I keep seeing people confidently given advice that simply does not apply outside the US.

Specifics: the route I used took 8 weeks and cost roughly what I expected. The admin was worse than the cost. The thing that would have saved me the most time was knowing which document to ask for at the start.

Happy to answer questions from anyone in the same jurisdiction.

The evidence standard in c/vendorvetting gets called too strict about once a month, and every time, the thread ends with the complainant agreeing.

Strongly agree. ALT is where you catch the liver story early.

ALT is where the fatty-liver story shows up first

eGFR noise during rapid loss is expected

Yeah, baseline matters more than any later number.

About c/bloodwork

What to measure before you start, what to re-measure, and how to interpret movement without panicking. ApoB over LDL-C, HOMA-IR as a crude free tool, ALT and the fatty-liver story, eGFR noise during rapid loss, and the deficiencies that a 1,100-calorie appetite will hand you.

c/bloodwork rules
  1. Post reference ranges with your numbers. Units differ by country and lab.
  2. Nobody here can tell you what a result means for you. We can tell you what it usually means.
  3. Redact identifying details from lab PDFs before posting.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  9. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.

Before you read on

Several compounds discussed on GLP Research Hub are sold for research use only and are not approved for human use anywhere. Nothing here is medical advice and none of it is written by your clinician. If a post reads like an instruction, treat it as a description of what one stranger did.
