tried A1c for 22 weeks. here is what happened.

Baseline Clean Column ×7 Sourced ×3 Slow Clap ×3

Genuinely asking, not being difficult.

Everyone in c/t2dglp1 repeats that baseline labs is important. I believe it, but I have never seen anyone show why, and when I search I get 14 threads of people agreeing with each other.

Is there a paper? Is there a measurement? Or is this one of those things that is true because it has been repeated since 2023?

I am not trying to be the "source?" guy. I would just like a source.

Do you have baseline to compare to?

Ferritin tanked from 14 to 30. Small appetite, reduced iron intake, nobody was testing it until I asked.

The evidence standard in c/vendorvetting gets called too strict about once a month, and every time, the thread ends with the complainant agreeing.

This is correct. ApoB is the better marker.

Same lab both times?

This is correct.

Disagree on that part. 95.1% and 96.2% on the same vial is normal.

ApoB over LDL-C, that is the hierarchy

My A1c went from 18 to 40 in 50 weeks. The baseline labs story shows up in the trend, not the single number.

About c/bloodwork

What to measure before you start, what to re-measure, and how to interpret movement without panicking. ApoB over LDL-C, HOMA-IR as a crude free tool, ALT and the fatty-liver story, eGFR noise during rapid loss, and the deficiencies that a 1,100-calorie appetite will hand you.

  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
