why does nobody talk about Mounjaro

Labbranch of 16 comments

Right, the Mounjaro question again, but with numbers this time. I have 23 data points over 8 weeks. The pattern is consistent enough that I do not think it is chance, and boring enough that nobody is going to screenshot it, which is usually a good sign. The thing I would flag for anyone new: the effect I am…

the 15mg is the top of the pen, not the required dose

dual agonism is Mounjaro, do not generalise from semaglutide

the appetite change on tirz is more than just reduced hunger, it is different machinery

Sceptical. If this were true we would see it reflected in the data and we do not.

This matches the trial data. SURMOUNT-1 was 97.9% body weight at 11 weeks.

This matches the trial data.

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.

SURMOUNT data is messier than STEP data but the weight loss is there

the GIP side does different things than the GLP-1 side, that is the point

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 84 weeks to accept.

Did you stay on semaglutide or switch? The outcome is different if you are comparing.

Disagree on that part. 97.6% and 97.9% on the same vial is normal.

Adding to this: dual agonist is doing more work than the comment implies.

About c/tirzepatide

Tirzepatide-specific discussion: the dual-agonist pharmacology, the 2.5 → 15mg ladder, the appetite profile people describe as different from semaglutide, and the SURMOUNT/SURPASS trial programme. Comparisons with semaglutide are welcome as long as they are specific about dose equivalence being unknown.
