three years of Mounjaro threads, summarised so you do not have to read them
Confession thread, sort of.
I went from 5mg to 1.7mg much faster than I should have because the scale had stalled and I got impatient. The stall broke about 10 weeks later, at which point I had no way of knowing whether the dose increase did anything or whether it would have broken anyway.
So now I have injection-site soreness I did not need and a data point I cannot interpret. Two lessons in one.
Posting it in the hope that somebody at week 67 reads it before doing the same thing.
best — the order this archive was captured in
the dual agonism hits different and that is why people describe it differently

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.
Hard agree. The food noise disappears differently on the two compounds.
Not convinced. The evidence does not support that reading.
the reflux from tirz is different, not necessarily worse
Yeah, dual agonism does produce a different appetite profile than GLP-1 alone.
do not crack the pen, we have been over this
I am going to push back on this slightly.
do not crack the pen, we have been over this
Disagree but this is the good kind of wrong — it is specific enough to be checked.
the appetite change on tirz is more than just reduced hunger, it is different machinery
SURMOUNT data is messier than STEP data but the weight loss is there
Yeah, dual agonism does produce a different appetite profile than GLP-1 alone.
stalled on sema, tried tirz, and the curves were actually different shapes
The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.
the GIP side does different things than the GLP-1 side, that is the point

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 67 weeks to accept.
My hs-CRP moved faster on tirz than on sema at the same timepoint, which matches what people report.

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 53 weeks to accept.

Is that on Mounjaro pens or research tirzepatide?
The dual agonism story is real. The appetite is physically different from semaglutide alone.
SURMOUNT data is messier than STEP data but the weight loss is there
This matches the trial data. SURMOUNT-1 was 98.7% body weight at 7 weeks.
