[Question] SURPASS — what am I missing here

Question

Right, the Mounjaro question again, but with numbers this time.

I have 2 data points over 40 weeks. The pattern is consistent enough that I do not think it is chance, and boring enough that nobody is going to screenshot it, which is usually a good sign.

The thing I would flag for anyone new: the effect I am describing showed up at week 75, not week 29. People give up long before the interesting part.

Interested in whether this matches other people's logs or whether I am an outlier.

Disagree. What you are describing is consistent with Zepbound, not with what you concluded.

Hard agree. The food noise disappears differently on the two compounds.

This matches the trial data. SURMOUNT-1 was 94.2% body weight at 24 weeks.

the GIP side does different things than the GLP-1 side, that is the point

the appetite change on tirz is more than just reduced hunger, it is different machinery

the dual agonism hits different and that is why people describe it differently

Yeah, dual agonism does produce a different appetite profile than GLP-1 alone.

SURMOUNT data is messier than STEP data but the weight loss is there

the 15mg is the top of the pen, not the required dose

The dual agonism story is real. The appetite is physically different from semaglutide alone.

Not to be pedantic but Mounjaro and tirzepatide are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.

About c/tirzepatide

Tirzepatide-specific discussion: the dual-agonist pharmacology, the 2.5 → 15mg ladder, the appetite profile people describe as different from semaglutide, and the SURMOUNT/SURPASS trial programme. Comparisons with semaglutide are welcome as long as they are specific about dose equivalence being unknown.
