[Question] New Zealand — has anyone got a straight answer on lipids

Question Long Haul ×6

eGFR. That is the whole post, but I will justify it.

Everything else people worry about in c/orforglipron is downstream of it. Titration speed, early fullness, the endless dose arguments — most of it resolves if you sort eGFR out first, and almost nobody does.

I say this having got it wrong for 4 months. My A1c was the thing that eventually made me pay attention, which is a stupid way to learn a lesson that was in the sidebar the whole time.

ALT is where the fatty-liver story shows up first

Not convinced. The evidence does not support that reading.

the 5 month eGFR check is the routine

Yeah, baseline matters more than any later number.

Tracking number removed. It identifies both ends of a shipment.

HOMA-IR is crude but free and useful for tracking

Titration speed is a side-effect dial far more than an efficacy dial.

My ALT went from 18 to 16 in 42 weeks. The ApoB story shows up in the trend, not the single number.

Do you have baseline to compare to?

This is correct. ApoB is the better marker.

About c/bloodwork

What to measure before you start, what to re-measure, and how to interpret movement without panicking. ApoB over LDL-C, HOMA-IR as a crude free tool, ALT and the fatty-liver story, eGFR noise during rapid loss, and the deficiencies that a 1,100-calorie appetite will hand you.
