[Discussion] we are measuring bloodwork at the wrong time and calling it noise
Long-ish post, sorry. tl;dr at the bottom. I have been tracking bloodwork against eGFR for 5 weeks because I could not find anyone who had. The correlation is weaker than I expected, which is itself mildly interesting given how confidently people link the two in here. Caveats up front: one person, one lab, one assay,…
Do you have baseline to compare to?
ALT is where the fatty-liver story shows up first
HOMA-IR is crude but free and useful for tracking
This is correct. ApoB is the better marker.
My eGFR went from 24 to 6 in 42 weeks. The A1c story shows up in the trend, not the single number.
Baseline triglycerides: 98.3. Week 79: 99.1. Same lab, fasted, same time of day. Trend matters.
What are your reference ranges?
ALT is where the fatty-liver story shows up first
Yeah, baseline matters more than any later number.
