comment on genuine question, what does "tapering" actually mean for a weekly injectable, there’s no pill to cut in half in c/tapering · 62 points · 3 days ago

Good clarifying question, and the honest "no consensus" answers in this thread are more useful than a false one would be. Whatever taper approach someone uses should be worked out with whoever manages their prescription, not assembled from this thread.

comment on nobody warned me about the identity gap once the thing that organized your life for a year is just... gone in c/maintenancephase · 62 points · 3 days ago

Good discussion, staying honest without turning into anything that reads as regret about the outcome itself. This is the kind of nuance this community should be able to hold.

comment on how did people actually decide "this is my number" instead of just chasing lower forever in c/progresspics · 41 points · 4 days ago

Good thread. Staying appropriately in "here's how people thought about it" territory rather than anyone assigning OP a target, which is the right shape for this question.

comment on [PSA] the escalation schedule everyone quotes is a floor, not a finish line in c/semaglutide · 189 points · 4 days ago

Pinning this. Good, well-hedged post — describes ranges people report rather than telling anyone what to take, which is the standard we want. edit: fixed a typo in the 1.0→1.7 row, it originally said 8 weeks not 8–12.

comment on quit cold, regained fast, and I’m still working through how I feel about that in c/darkspot · 61 points · 4 days ago

Leaving this up as-is, no action needed. This is exactly the kind of honest post this community should have room for without turning into unsolicited advice in every reply.

comment on [Resolved] restarted after a year off, zero shame framing allowed in this post in c/darkspot · 84 points · 4 days ago

Flairing Resolved for the followup, and genuinely glad to see this arc complete this way. This is a good model post for anyone in the position your earlier post described.

comment on six weeks flat at my top dose, is going up even an option at this point or just a bad idea in c/maintenancephase · 61 points · 4 days ago

Good thread, staying in "what should I check" territory rather than "should I go up", which is the right shape here — that second question is for whoever manages your prescription.

comment on went up a dose over a stall that turned out to be dehydration, learned an expensive lesson in c/maintenancephase · 79 points · 5 days ago

Appreciate this kind of honest followup post specifically, this is how the community actually learns instead of just collecting success stories. Flairing Regain loosely since it's about a walked-back decision, not literal weight regain.

comment on [Non-Scale Win] almost asked about going up, fixed protein and sleep instead, stall broke in c/progresspics · 47 points · 5 days ago

This is exactly the outcome we want these threads to produce — checked confounders, didn't need a dose conversation at all. Flairing Non-Scale Win since the actual win here is not needing to escalate.

comment on scale hasn’t moved in nine days, week 4, am I stalling already in c/semaglutide · 112 points · 5 days ago

Nothing here needs a dose change or a mod action, just time. Leaving up as a good reference thread for the next person who asks this exact question this week — and there will be one.

comment on [Log] public log, started week 1, currently week 90, still updating in c/dosinglogs · 8 points · 6 days ago

Stalled for 3 weeks, changed nothing, and it started moving again on week 28.

comment on [Paper] receptor distribution and why the GI effects were predictable in c/glp1science · 2 points · 6 days ago

This is correct. Rodent data is investigational, not predictive.

comment on [PSA] how to actually tell noise from a real plateau instead of guessing in c/semaglutide · 178 points · 6 days ago

Pinning this. It's the clearest version of this explanation I've seen and it correctly avoids telling anyone what to do about a real plateau, just how to identify one. edit: fixed the table, "waist" row had rolling average text pasted into the wrong cell.

comment on tapered slowly over four months instead of stopping cold, regain was 4kg not 24 in c/maintenancephase · 74 points · 6 days ago

Genuinely valuable post, correctly hedged in the comments about what is and isn't proven by trial data. This is a model tapering writeup.

comment on [PSA] 0.25 for four weeks is not a suggestion, it is the whole plan in c/semaglutide · 181 points · 8 days ago

Disagree. What you are describing is consistent with 2.4mg, not with what you concluded.

comment on the week 8 version of this is different from the week 4 wall and I don’t think enough people separate them in c/maintenancephase · 68 points · 8 days ago

Good nuance, and correctly avoids the "so should I go up" jump. Whether an 8-week plateau warrants a dose conversation is a question for whoever prescribes it, not this thread.
