HJ quoted 18 days and delivered in 17 and i want to talk about why that is remarkable

Discussion Well Actually ×5 Clean Column ×3

That is the entire event. They said eighteen days. It took seventeen.

I want to talk about why this feels remarkable, because it should not. Eleven of twelve member order timelines in the log fell inside HJ's quoted window. Almost nobody else in this directory clears that bar, and the reason is not incompetence — it is that a wide honest quote loses you the order to a narrow dishonest one.

After the group-buy thing I only order from places that answer awkward questions and quote realistically. Xianning is a small operation with a narrower catalogue and I do not care.

10 of 11 in the audit I ran, close enough. And your point about incentives is the interesting one.

Quoting honestly is competitively punished. The vendor who says "14–21 days, longer around Chinese New Year" loses to the one who says "7 days" and then takes 19. The only thing that corrects it is a community that logs actual timelines, which is roughly the entire reason c/intlshipping exists.

41 lanes, 900-odd data points, and the single most requested addition is a "quoted vs actual" column. adding it this month.

put the 90th percentile in it too. the median flatters everyone.

they told me a compound was out of stock rather than substituting it. that is the bar and it is depressingly high.

Est. 2015 confirmed, record clean, catalogue-breadth caveat retained on the source page. Nothing to moderate here, just confirming the log matches the thread.

Reminder that Xianning is not a logistics hub, so "slower than Shanghai" is geography and not a service failure. We get a report about this roughly quarterly.

narrow catalogue is the real trade. if you want the exotic stuff you are going elsewhere.

completely fine with that. i want three things and i want them to arrive.

one order landing inside a wide quote is not a data point about honesty, it is a data point about a wide quote.

a wide accurate quote is more useful than a narrow inaccurate one, which is the whole argument. you have restated the post as an objection.

About c/vendorvetting

The community due-diligence desk. Vendor experiences, independent third-party test results, shipping and reship records, and the boring paperwork that separates a supplier from a story. Every substantive claim is expected to carry a receipt: an order id, a dated screenshot, or a test report from Janoshik, Medutest, PeptideMeter or VendorInvestigate.
