[Discussion] "tirz is stronger than sema" needs a comparator dose or it means nothing
Been lurking in c/compounding for about 21 months and finally have something worth posting.
Short version: week 53, 5mg, and GIP is the bit I still cannot get a straight answer on. I have read the wiki, I have read the last 37 threads, and the answers split roughly down the middle.
What I actually want to know is whether the people saying it does not matter have measured it, or whether it is just repeated confidently. Happy to be told I am overthinking this — I probably am — but I would rather overthink it now than at week 47.

Week 25 on Mounjaro and 23kg down. The appetite reduction feels different from sema in ways I do not have words for yet.

Switched from sema at 1.0mg to tirz at 1.0mg. Different drugs, cannot compare the doses directly.
The SURMOUNT readouts are real but less consistent than STEP. Some people plateau earlier on tirz.
Is that on Mounjaro pens or research tirzepatide?

Strongly agree. Tirz is better than sema is not a claim without a comparator dose.
This matches the trial data. SURMOUNT-1 was 99.0% body weight at 11 weeks.

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.

Adding to this: GIP is doing more work than the comment implies.

Hard agree. The food noise disappears differently on the two compounds.
Slight fix: the number was 99.0, not 98.9. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.
