[Lab] split one vial across VendorInvestigate and PeptideMeter — 94.2% and 97.9%

Side Effects Well Actually ×4 Sourced ×2

Result first, context after: split one vial across VendorInvestigate and PeptideMeter — 94.2% and 97.9%. Everything below is how it was ordered, stored and sent.

Numbers, in the order they matter: 94.2% and 97.9%.

Kept a log from week one and the single most useful column turned out to be waist, not weight.

Dropped my injection day by two days once because of travel. Nothing happened. The panic was worse than the effect.

Would rather be corrected in public than confident in private.

Retitled to match the body. The original promised a comparison the post does not make.

Retitled to match the body.

Right, and the timescale is the bit that keeps getting lost. Judge a step at a month, not at a weekend.

STEP-1 ran 68 weeks and landed just under 15% mean body weight change on 2.4mg. It is an average of a wide distribution, not a target you have missed.

Minor fix — the half-life is about a week, not about a day. The rest of your point stands.

staying at 2.4mg for an extra month is a legitimate plan

The appetite thing was the surprise. I expected to feel full. What I got was simply not thinking about food between meals.

Strongly agree on protein. It did more for my injection-site soreness than any of the things I bought to fix my injection-site soreness.

Strongly agree on protein.

Disagree with this specific line. A pause at 2.4mg is not evidence that 2.4mg has stopped working.

stalling at 1.7mg is information, not a verdict

Disagree with this specific line.

This is the part I would underline for anyone skimming. Everything else in the thread is downstream of it.

Sat at 0.25mg for four months because it was doing the job. Everyone told me to go up. The one time I did, the only thing that changed was the constipation.

How long was the stall before you decided it was a stall?

Did protein intake change in the same window?

The weekly interval comes out of the half-life — roughly a week — so you are on a smooth curve rather than a series of spikes. That is also why moving your day slightly does very little.

the appetite signal and the scale move on different clocks

replysharereportpermalink
u/yara_boateng3 points·2 years ago

dose day drift of a day either way is fine, the curve barely notices

do not chase somebody else’s titration schedule, they are not you

Disagree. 2.4 is the top of the label, not the goal, and "everyone ends up there" is just survivorship in the posts you read.

replysharereportpermalink
u/b12_baseline14 points·2 years ago

Not convinced. You changed the dose and the week at the same time, so you cannot attribute the change to either.

replysharereportpermalink
u/gustav_solberg3 points·2 years ago

My stall was eleven weeks. Eleven. Then it moved again without me changing anything at all.

replysharereportpermalink
u/arne_amankwah9 points·2 years ago

Steady state after a dose change takes four to five half-lives, so the fair judgement point on a new step is about a month, not four days.

protein first, then everything else gets easier

replysharereportpermalink
u/niels_lindqvist2 points·2 years ago

Correct, and worth adding: the trial average is an average. Half the people in it did worse than 15% and were still on the drug.

protein first, then everything else gets easier

Adding one thing to this: the appetite effect and the scale run on separate clocks, so both halves can be true at once.

the scale is the least sensitive instrument you own

the ladder exists because the gut needs the time, not because the pharmacy likes paperwork
