Milestone

tried tracking for 4 weeks. here is what happened. Making the case below, and I expect to lose some of it in the comments.

To save the first four comments: 4 weeks.

Exported the whole thing to a plain text file after nearly losing it in an app that shut down.

Wrote the concentration into the log as well as on the vial. Have referred back to it more than once.

Happy to answer the boring questions. Those are usually the ones worth asking.

A log is a record of what you did. It is not a protocol, and posting one as a schedule for other members is a different thing that this board does not do.

a log with no dates is a story

the boring logs are the useful ones

Correction: those two entries are 23 weeks apart, not consecutive, which changes how the middle of that series reads.

a log is not a plan and it is not advice for anybody else

Kept one line a week for 3 months. It was pointless for the first eight weeks and then it was the most useful document I owned.

A log is a record of what you did.

Agreed — and the payoff genuinely arrives in month six, not week two.

How long have you been logging?

Logged the missed weeks as blanks rather than skipping them. The gaps turned out to be the informative part.

I would not draw a trend line through that. Two points and a gap is not a series.

Why contemporaneous beats reconstructed, with the failure mode.

Memory smooths. Reconstructing a fortnight from recollection produces a series that is more regular, more consistent with your current beliefs, and quietly wrong in a direction that flatters the story you are already telling.

I found this out by reconstructing six weeks and later finding order receipts that contradicted my own entries. The log was not a little wrong; it was wrong in exactly the direction that made my narrative work. Write it down on the day, even the boring days, especially the boring days.

A log is only interpretable if the conditions are consistent. Same day, same time, same state, same scale — otherwise you are recording measurement variability rather than change.

Added a sleep column late and immediately understood two of my worst weeks.

About c/dosinglogs

Public dosing logs kept over months and years: dose, date, weight, waist, side effects, labs. The value is in the boring consistency, so log posts are updated rather than reposted and the community rewards the people still updating at week 90.

c/dosinglogs rules
  1. One log per person. Update it; do not repost it.
  2. Include the dose and the date on every update.
  3. Logs that stop for 90 days get the Concluded flair automatically.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  9. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.
