[Question] eGFR dropped 8 points during rapid loss, should i worry
Trying to settle this properly because the thread from last year went in circles.
The claim: eGFR matters. The counter-claim: it is measurement error. Both sides have been asserting it confidently for about 22 months without either producing anything.
What would actually settle it is 25 people measuring the same thing the same way. I have started; my numbers are below. They lean one way but not strongly enough for me to declare victory.
If you have data, post the data. If you have an opinion, flair it as an opinion.
best — the order this archive was captured in
post reference ranges with your numbers, units differ by country and lab
This is correct. ApoB is the better marker.
Baseline A1c: 98.3. Week 94: 98.0. Same lab, fasted, same time of day. Trend matters.
Yeah, baseline matters more than any later number.
ferritin from 5 to 31 is movement, not noise

Not to be pedantic but ApoB and eGFR are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.
HOMA-IR is crude but free and useful for tracking
Flair changed to match the content. Read the sidebar before posting next time and we are square.
Yeah, baseline matters more than any later number.
Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 55 weeks to accept.
triglycerides from 7 to 25 is movement, not noise
HOMA-IR is crude but free and useful for tracking
eGFR noise during rapid loss is expected
